Michael Lynche Disqualified From American Idol After Dad Talks To Paper

Top 24 of American Idol Season 9 has been announced, but is it true that Michael Lynche (a.k.a. Big Mike) was told to pack his bags after his father revealed to his local Florida paper, The St. Petersburg Times, that Michael had made the top 24 — a violation of Idol rules requiring the singers and their families to keep the Hollywood week results quiet until they’re broadcast.

Fox declined to comment on Lynche’s potential Top 24 involvement and disqualification when contacted by The New York Post on Sunday.

Lynche’s older brother, Marque Lynche Jr., made the “Idol” semifinals in 2004, but was cut before reaching the final 12, according to the Times’ report.
