Sandra Bullock Favored to Win Oscar

In a few hours, the winners will be revealed at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards. Who will take home the Oscar statues this year?

In the Best Actress in a Leading Role Category, Sandra Bullock is the early favorite for her portrayal of LeAnne Touhy in the football drama The Blind Side. While the buzz is for Bullock, she has strong competition in Meryl Streep who is nominated for her role in Julie & Julia. Other contenders for the category are Helen Mirren for The Last Station, Carey Mulligan for An Education and Gabourey Sidibe for Precious.

On the Actor in a Lead Role category, Jeff Bridges is favored to win for Crazy Heart. Other nominees are George Clooney for Up in the Air, Colin Firth for A Single Man, Morgan Freeman for Invictus and Jeremy Renner for The Hurt Locker.

Ten nominees are vying for the Best Picture. Oscar buzz is for The Hurt Locker. This year, two animated films, Avatar and Up are also hoping to bring home the Oscar.

  1. I just read on the web that Sandra Bullock spends the night with nine pet dogs in her bed. Sorry, but for me that isn’t hygenic at all.
